This home’s transformation was an ode to the landscape and hillside in which it resides. The architectural language changed from standard country style to sleek contemporary, requiring the exterior wall lines and voluminous siding to be removed to enhance views, streamline exterior finishes, and make space for the new pool and decking. Our structural team was challenged by maintaining existing foundation, walls, and wood framing, while replacing shear walls and incorporating new steel frames to ensure the new structure’s internal construction was as modern and advanced as the exterior. Meanwhile, our civil engineers ensured the grading of the hillside for which the house is nestled was seamless and accessible, allowing for the additional outdoor features.
